After spending 8 years representing financial institutions as a creditor’s attorney, Hunter decided to take his skills and knowledge learned during that time and focus on helping individuals. Rosemary has been representing debtors in consumer bankruptcy cases for over 12 years. We teamed up to form Zook & Zook Law, where our goal is to provide start-to-finish legal “financial planning,” from bankruptcy to estate planning and estate administration (probate) matters. We work with you to resolve your legal issues in a cost efficient and effective manner. A critical aspect of the attorney-client relationship is open communication; we pride ourselves on consistent and regular interaction. Ultimately, our goal is to exceed expectations and provide a level of service that is second to none.

Areas of Practice

Bankruptcy

If you are facing financial difficulties, you are not alone. The bills, phone calls, and stress can be overwhelming. However, bankruptcy often provides the cleanest and most efficient solution to solving those issues. By scheduling an appointment with us you will learn the truth about bankruptcy and the many benefits it can provide.

Estate Planning

It is important for every person, especially individuals with families, to know what is going to happen to their children, spouse, and assets after they pass away. It is just as important to avoid any unnecessary fees and taxes. Allow us to review your current financial, familial, and health situation and guide you towards gaining clarity in understanding who will watch over your minor children, how you will be buried, and how your assets will be distributed after your passing.

Probate

Probate is a legal process whereby a court oversees the distribution of assets left by a deceased person. Assets are anything a person owns with value, such as real and personal property and cash, for instance. It is important to note, however, that probate is not always necessary. If the deceased person owned bank accounts or property with another person, the surviving co-owner often will then own that property automatically. Additionally, if a person dies leaving very few assets, such as personal belongings or household goods, these items can be distributed among the rightful beneficiaries without the supervision of the court.

An analysis of the estate would determine the direction needed to be taken, if any. We can assist with that determination.
